Everyone is a genius
For a fair selection everybody has to take the same exam: please NOW CLIMB THAT TREE! Does this sound familiar? 8-4-4 system maybe? Did you have a teacher that told you that you’ll never amount to anything? How about parents that called you a failure because you failed your final exam thanks to one or two mandatory subjects?😔
Parents and teachers let us encourage our children/students to focus on their strengths and give them guidance and support! Don’t see them as a mini version of what you could have been. Allow them to discover their own path and pursue their passions🙏🏾
EVERYONE is a GENIUS! But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it’s going to go through life feeling like a failure. -Albert Einstein

5 Minutes Early Is On Time; On Time Is Late; Late Is Unacceptable
5 Minutes Early Is On Time; On Time Is Late; Late Is Unacceptable
CONTRIBUTOR
I provide a Midwest view on entrepreneurship, VC, and private equity.
I have a magic pill to sell you. It will help you make more money, be happier, look thinner, and have better relationships. It’s a revolutionary new pharmaceutical product called Late-No-More. Just one dose every day will allow you to show up on time, greatly enhancing your life and the lives of those around you.
All joking aside, being late is unacceptable. While that sounds harsh, it’s the truth and something that should be said more often. I don’t care if you’re attending a dinner party, a conference call, or a coffee meeting - your punctuality says a lot about you.
- Disrespectful: Being on time is about respect. It signals that you value and appreciate the other person. If you don’t respect the meeting’s participants, why are you meeting with them in the first place?
- Inconsiderate: Unintentionally being late demonstrates an overall lack of consideration for the lives of others. You just don’t care.
- Big-Timing: Intentionally being late is about power. It’s showing the other person, or people that you’re a “big deal” and have the upper-hand in the relationship. It’s also called being a dick.
- Incredible: No, not in the good way. When you miss meeting times or deadlines, your credibility takes the trajectory of a lead balloon. If you can’t be counted on to be on time, how could you possibly have credibility around far tougher tasks?
- Unprofitable: Let’s consider a scenario where five people are holding a meeting at 2 p.m. Your sauntering in ten minutes late just wasted 40 minutes of other peoples’ time. Let’s say the organization bills $200/hour. Are you paying the $133 bill? Someone certainly is.
- Disorganized: If you can’t keep your calendar, what other parts of your life are teetering on the edge of complete disaster? Being late signals at best that you’re barely hanging on and probably not someone I want to associate with.
- Overly-Busy: Everyone likes to equate busyness with importance, but the truly successful know that’s BS. Having a perpetually hectic schedule just signals that you can’t prioritize, or say “no,” neither of which is an endearing trait.
- Flaky: Apparently some people just “flake out,” which seems to mean that they arbitrarily decidenot to do the thing they committed to at the very last minute. Seriously? That’s ridiculous.
- Megalomaniacal: While most grow out of this by the age of eight, some genuinely believe they are the center of the universe. It’s not attractive. Note, this is also called Donald TrumpSyndrome. Do you want to be compared to Donald Trump?
As I said earlier, I’m occasionally late. Sometimes a true emergency happens, or an outlier event transpires. When it happens, I try to give a very detailed account of why I was late, apologize profusely, make sure the other person knows that I take it very seriously, and assure them it won’t happen again.
Paying attention to punctuality is not about being “judgy,” or stressed. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. It makes room for the caring, considerate, thoughtful people I want in my life, whether that’s friends or colleagues. Think of how relaxing your life would be if everyone just did what they said they’d do, when they said they’d do it? A good place to start is with yourself and a great motto is something I was taught as a child:
“5 minutes early is on time. On time is late. Late is unacceptable.”
From the Forbes Magazine.

The Parable of the Talent
Lessons from the Parable of the Talents
——————————————————-
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods. Matt.25:13-40
1. Success is a product of our effort. We must put in work. It is the effort that we “put in” that the master is looking for. We cannot put in effort and energy into something and the situation remains the same.
💡God measures our success by our effort.
2. We were have all it takes. We have greatness within us. You have all the tools you need within you to produce a successful life.
💡I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13
3. We are gifted differently and according to our abilities. The bible states clearly the master gives to each servant talents, “…each according to his ability.”
💡Make the best out of what we have. Make it count.
4. God has entrusted us His property! We are stewards. Our talents, gifts, children, spouses, parents, our own bodies, the air we breath and everything we are and we have belong to our master. He has allowed us to borrow them, one day he’s coming back for his property. What will we present back to him?
💡Honor God by doing your best with what He has given you or where he has-placed you. It is not a coincidence it is for a divine purpose.
We are responsible for what we do with what’s entrusted to us. One day we will stand before Him and give an account of what we did with our lives.

What is your Passion
===>Long post alert<===
“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” ~ Confucius
Have you discovered what you were meant to do, what your true passion is ? Your life doesn’t get better by chance, it gets better by change.
A good place to start is
1. Write down talents you are good at including inherent gifts. Don’t limit this to your play time, think of everything to include work, and at home.
2. Add to your list any skills that you have developed either for work or for your personal life.
3. Write down anything that you are interested in learning about or may want to pursue.
NOW ask yourself the following questions and write down your answers:
DOING THIS – gets me excited so much that I can talk about it all day long?
DOING THIS – makes me excited to get up in the morning?
DOING THIS – I would be willing to do it for FREE?
DOING THIS – can make me lose all sense of time?
DOING THIS – gives me extra energy?
DOING THIS – makes me smile?
Answer them in this manner, replacing the word “DOING THIS”…
Question #1 – “Watching the progression of my friend losing weight gets me excited so much that I can talk about it all day long.”
Question #2 – “Working at the hospital makes me excited to get up in the morning.”
Question #3 – “Designing websites is so much fun I would be willing to do it for FREE.”
Question #4 – “Working with animals can make me lose all sense of time.”
You get the idea for the remainder of questions… hopefully your subject will be the same in front of each question.
Now take a bold step, Follow Your Passion – Don’t and don’t Settle for less… Do What You Love!

You are a Queen
Ladies, listen to me. You are a queen!!
You could trip, or even fall but don’t dwell there..
GET BACK ON YOUR FEET, ADJUST YOUR CROWN AND KEEP MOVING. Life is a journey not a moment.
Your status, career, background, outward appearance(btw beauty is skin deep) , level of education etc do not count here!! STEP UP INTO YOUR POWER AND OWN IT!!
Say NO to being ordinary, quit playing small, raise your standard of doing things, compete with no one but yourself, invest in yourself and remain confident. Keep God first and just BLOOM! 😊
You were made for greatness!!
It is time to leave or start working on leaving an outstanding legacy for our daughters and mentees?” Someone is always watching you and secretly admiring how you do things and carry yourself.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us RUN WITH PERSEVERANCE THE RACE MARKED OUT FOR US. Hebrews 12:1
Also remember every one of us has a race marked out for them. Constantly ask yourself how you are running your race. Did you fall and remain there? GET BACK ON YOUR FEET QUEEN!!
Even those of us that seem “always” standing, it is only by GOD’S GRACE we are still here! We fall down and we get up.
Now fix that crown and let’s make it a great day!!

Personal growth
Long post alert! Happy MLK day y’all!
—————————————————-
Have you ever wanted something so bad you that you are willing to do whatever it takes to get it?
Every single day the last several years I wake up early and focus on my personal development.
Every day I push myself to be better than I was yesterday. Some mornings I can hardly keep my eyes open like this morning. As a mom, wife, and entrepreneur unless I become disciplined and be intentional towards my growth I will never have “the perfect day and time”.
My body wants to sleep, procrastinate, watch LMN movies, spend the day at the mall window shopping, but I must put in the work now so I can play later!!! I must beat myself!
I share this on FB today not to impress you but to impress upon you that personal growth is something we have to be intententional about.
We have books, songs, businesses etc that are 5-10 years overdue. One of my favorite Chinese proverb says, The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now.
When you become intentional on this, ain’t no telling what you could become. Inside you lies a HERO awaiting to be unleashed but you must put in the work. A little disciplined baby steps will get you there. At first I didn’t see any change in my life and almost gave up. I’m glad I didn’t!
You probably think you don’t have time and for sure you may not but guess what, you can replace some “not so important” activities on your “to do list” with small daily habits that will help you grow. A few things that could help are;
▪️Waking up an hour earlier than usual and dedicating that time to your growth.
▪️Simple things like listening to audio books when driving “university on wheels”,
▪️Listening to the Bible or TED talks when getting ready for work or while making breakfast.
▪️Reading atleast 1 book once a month and Practicing what you read. Maybe even do lunch while reading a chapters a book in an area you want to improve.
▪️Catching your “time thieves” and investing that time in something with a better and bigger return.
▪️Get a coach... research shows every successful person has atleast one coach.
▪️Attend seminars...
DO SOMETHING, anything...

Confidence Booster
✨✨Confidence booster✨✨
Ladies, without self confidence you’ll not go far. Self confidence is something only you can cultivate.Lets look at ways to do that,
1.Don’t criticize yourself and don’t let others either (nonconstructive criticism)
People will say “anything” but you don’t have to let them in. Really, you don’t have to open every package sent your way!
Feed the hero within you and starve that chattering voice that whispers to you things like “what makes you think you deserve that?” “you can’t do that!” “you are not good enough!” Starve it and it will eventually die.
2. Love yourself.. be your own best friend. Treat yourself like you treat your best friend. Be nice to yourself.
3. Live a life of gratitude. Be positive and Look for good in every situation. Trust me you will always find it.
4. Focus on yourself, dont compare yourself with anyone else. You are a beautiful flower, do what flowers do. Just bloom
5. Can’t pour in an empty cup. Be intentional on your personal growth.. do it daily. Read books and listened to audios /watch videos in an area you want to improve.
6. Let go of things that don’t serve anymore. Detach yourself from bad influence. You must keep a close eye on who’s in your inner circle.
“With whom you surround yourself with is who you become” let go of battery drainers, keep close the battery chargers.
Blessings,
Essie
